Music at St. James'

We are most fortunate to have some great equipment which enables us to worship in either traditional or more contemporary ways. Traditionally, music and singing are frequently 'done well' in Methodist churches, and St. James' is no exception. Whether it's traditional worship you're looking for or a modern twist, we do it all, in His Name! Check out the Worship page to see who's preaching and who's playing. That'll give you some idea about the style of worship for that service. More often, morning services are more traditional with the exception of the 1st Sunday of each month when HALLELUJAH HOUR takes place, whilst the Circuit evening service moves from one church to another in the Circuit. See the D&N Circuit Website for more information.

Eminent Organ

Installed as part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2009 at a total cost of £15,000. With the external amplification system built into the roofline of the church we really can 'raise the roof' and those who play the instrument tell us it's a joy and a privilege to play.

Knight Piano

Given in memory of Mr Frank Beddard. This is a beautifully toned piano and the desire of those musicians who have the opportunity to play it. The London College of Music examinations take place on site and year after year the feedback about this instrument is fabulous.
